Fermilab Director Lia Merminga was one of several scientists participating in a hearing of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology’s Subcommittee on Energy on June 22. She provided testimony in the hearing on “Investigating the Nature of Matter, Energy, Space and Time,” where she discussed the importance of high-energy physics research to the United States and global stakeholders along with its societal applications.

WGN had a commercial for Chicago’s very own from some of Chicago’s suburbs. When Batavia came up, they showed Tom Skilling in two locations at Fermilab.

Today Fermilab observes the Juneteenth holiday. President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law last year, making it a federal holiday.
