VIRTUAL ONLY – Neutrino Seminar Series: New opportunities for CEvNS, at reactors and beyond

  • March 10, 2022, 1:00 pm US/Central

“New opportunities for CEvNS, at reactors and beyond” presented by Juan Collar from University of Chicago

I will review our recent results using a large-mass, low-threshold germanium detector at the Dresden-II power reactor in Illinois, looking for Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEvNS), with emphasis on technical aspects and on the importance of understanding the response of such devices to sub-keV nuclear recoils. I will conclude by discussing future plans, including the further development of these devices and next-generation CEvNS detector technologies, for installation at other reactor sites and at the upcoming European Spallation Source.
