Fermilab’s African American/Black Association, Women’s Initiative and the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are excited to co-sponsor a two-part event to help honor Black History Month. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m., the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and the African American/Black Association will honor Black History Month by hosting a virtual presentation by James Howard, Executive Director of Black Inventors Hall of Fame Museum. Howard will give a presentation focused on the importance of the museum and showcase some of the inventors. This virtual-only event will be hosted via Zoom on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from noon – 1pm CST. HBCUs and MISs are institutions of higher learning established prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to provide collegiate-level educational opportunities for Black Americans who were largely disqualified and/or prohibited from attending established colleges and…
