FESS, Fermilab’s facilities section has announced a name change: It now will be known as ISD, or the Infrastructure Services Division.

Mark Jeffers has been appointed head of the Facilities Engineering Service Section, effective immediately. He has been with Fermilab since September 2018, when he joined as the deputy head of FESS.
Karen Kosky will transition from serving as the head of FESS to becoming an advisor to the OCOO on June 1. Her achievements at FESS included initiating and seeing through a $340-million, campus-wide project to repair and modernize Fermilab’s core infrastructure.
The FESS/FM Mechanical group will be performing the annual ICW flush, for main site, starting Monday, Sep. 28 thru Friday, Oct. 2 during the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily (weather dependent). The work being performed will start at Casey’s Pump House and continue to the far reaches of main site i.e. D0 & MI40. This process is performed in a systematic fashion to flush approximately twenty seven miles of underground piping in accordance with FESHM standards….
FESS will be closing the Wilson Hall east parking lot to thru traffic on Saturday, October 5, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closure will facilitate the installation and tie-in of the new ICW main. We greatly appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
On May 3, Karen Kosky became the new head of the Facilities Engineering Services Section.
Starting on Feb. 12, the Wilson Hall Cafeteria seating area will undergo big changes.
The Utilities Upgrade Project was developed in part to rebuild the Master Substation with modern and safer equipment to support the current and future electrical requirements of the lab.
