Per Notice PR-2017-11 (issued July 11, 2017) and posted on the Illinois Dept. of Revenue website all employers must now withhold at 4.95%, effective July 1, 2017 for Illinois income tax withholding. All payroll checks processed after July 11, 2017 will be taxed at the new rate. For weekly employees the new rate will start with paychecks paid on Friday July 21. For monthly employees the new rate will start with July paychecks paid on Monday July 31.
As a reminder, Fermilab’s new sick leave policy went into effect on January 1, 2017. The new policy allows employees to use 72 hours per calendar year of their sick leave accrual to care for eligible family members. If you planning on being off Monday July 3, please remember to do your timecard this week on Friday before you leave. Timecards for the week of June 26-July 2 will be due Monday July 3 per our normal schedule.
2017 float holiday hours will not be usable on your Kronos timecard until Feb. 1, 2017. If you need to use the 2017 float holiday before Feb. 1, 2017, you must send an email to LindaSue Smith in payroll (email@example.com) asking for it to be set up manually. As much advance notice as possible is appreciated.
Please complete your timecard for Dec. 19-25 on Wednesday morning, Dec. 21. If you haven’t yet used your 2016 float holiday, please do so by Dec. 31, 2016, or it will be lost.
Timecards are due Thursday Dec. 15 for the week of Dec. 12-18.
Reminder: Your 2016 floating holiday balance must be used by Dec. 31, 2016, or it will be reduced to zero balance. The 2017 floating holiday balance will not appear for use on your timecard until Feb. 1, 2017. If you need to use it in January 2017, please contact LindaSue or Meghan in the Payroll Department via email.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Timecards are due early for the week of Nov 16-22 Employees submit their timecard by 10 a.m. Friday Nov. 20. Supervisors approve timecards by noon Friday Nov. 20. Payroll will sign off at noon (non exempt) and 3 p.m. (exempt) on Friday Nov. 20. Pay day for non exempt employees for this week will be Wed. Nov. 25.
