The following changes are being made to the Laboratory’s travel approval process. Effective Wednesday, March 9, the laboratory Director has authorized the processing of travel requests for domestic (in-person and virtual) and local travel per the Travel Office’s pre-pandemic policy and procedures. Specifically, division/section approvals may be obtained via the Travel System prior to the start date of the trip. Employees and visitors holding U.S. visas should contact the Visa Office prior to any travel abroad, even if such travel was previously discussed. The current situation with re-entering the U.S. is precarious, as stricter grounds for National Interest Waiver exemptions have been instituted by the U.S. Department of State. Regardless of the visa status, re-entry to the U.S. is not guaranteed. Contact the Visa Office prior to any travel abroad.
