Fermilab re-opens to visitors

Officials at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermilab announced that the laboratory re-opened to visitors on Thursday, August 8. The Department of Energy had ordered the closing of the laboratory to most visitors as a security measure following the terrorist attacks on the U.S. on September 11, 2001.

Marburger to visit Fermilab on Friday, August 2

The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, John Marburger, and the Assistant Director for Physical Sciences, Patrick Looney, will visit Fermilab on Friday, August 2. Marburger, who also serves as the President’s Science Adviser, was confirmed by the Senate as OSTP Director on October 23, 2001.
