Fermilab names Anju Jain as chief human resources officer

Anju Jain has been named Fermilab’s new chief human resources officer and head of the Workforce Development Resource Section, also known as WDRS, beginning March 29.

Anju Jain has been named Fermilab’s new chief human resources officer and head of the Workforce Development Resource Section, also known as WDRS, beginning March 29. She will lead the WDRS team in supporting the lab’s workforce needs and equity, diversity and inclusion vision; modernizing business processes; and ensuring continued Fermilab mission success.

“Anju brings a robust business background and strong understanding of the important role human resources and workforce development plays in enabling our success,” said Nigel Lockyer, director of Fermilab. “Her expertise will support our efforts to continue to build a diverse and inclusive team, and will help strengthen and modernize our capabilities. We’re very pleased to welcome her to our team.”

Jain joins Fermilab after a long tenure at Caterpillar and brings experience in international recruiting, succession planning, performance management and the use of data for decision-making. She previously served as the head of HR for Caterpillar India and Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, focusing on optimizing workforce and organization performance in the region.

In addition, she has industry experience with Avon and Kraft Foods, is a published author, and holds a PhD in human development from Pennsylvania State University.
