Every Friday, the Accelerator Division Operations Group holds their 9 a.m. scheduling meeting in Wilson Hall so that everyone who wants to attend has a place to sit. The presenters usually give a week’s view of operations. For the 9 a.m. meeting on Feb. 7 in Curia II, Muon g-2 spokesperson Mark Lancaster dropped in to see what was happening. This picture was taken with the photographer’s father’s 50mm Leica lens, which he bought (new) in 1958, adapted to a new Canon EOS R mirrorless camera.
Over two dozen high school students attending a summer course on astrophysics at the University of Chicago came out to Fermilab on July 3 to see the sites and sights. Their guide was Dark Energy Survey spokesperson and University of Chicago scientist Rich Kron. These young scientists hail from all over the United States and from other countries as well. Here are a few of them, smiling from the Tevatron tunnel.
