Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Fermilab scientists have developed a new AI tool that automatically determines where a telescope should point.

The awards will support Fermilab projects by leveraging AI to boost innovation and technology development, advance DOE’s Genesis Mission and accelerate scientific discovery.

The Fermi Data Platform was selected as a key partner for DOE’s Genesis Mission’s American Science Cloud, providing petabytes of storage, robust data-access tools and deep institutional expertise to ensure the data can be used to its fullest potential for AI-enhanced scientific research.

To support this national effort, Fermilab’s Fermi Data Platform is providing secure, large-scale data infrastructure needed to make advanced AI research possible across the American Science Cloud.
