From The Beacon-News, Feb. 1, 2016: A crowd of at least 2,500 people got the chance to view the facilities as well as exhibits at Fermilab’s Family Open House, which included physics projects offered by students living in neighboring communities including St. Charles, Naperville and Aurora.
Fermilab’s Family Open House is more than just an annual tradition. It’s a chance for the whole family to spend an afternoon learning about science in a hands-on way and have fun doing it. The Open House is earlier than usual this year – on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 1-5 p.m. – but it promises the same sense of wonder you’ve come to expect.
For the eighth year in a row, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is inviting families and scout troops to attend the Family Outdoor Fair on Sunday, June 14, from 1-4 p.m. The fair takes place outside the Lederman Science Center and highlights the plant and animal life found on the 6,800-acre Fermilab site in Batavia.
