From the Beacon-News, April 18, 2016: Fermilab in Batavia offered its 29th Wonders of Science event, which featured three current and retired high school teachers from the area performing a variety of experiments designed to make learning about science exciting.

From The Beacon-News, Feb. 1, 2016: A crowd of at least 2,500 people got the chance to view the facilities as well as exhibits at Fermilab’s Family Open House, which included physics projects offered by students living in neighboring communities including St. Charles, Naperville and Aurora.

Fermilab’s Family Open House is more than just an annual tradition. It’s a chance for the whole family to spend an afternoon learning about science in a hands-on way and have fun doing it. The Open House is earlier than usual this year – on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 1-5 p.m. – but it promises the same sense of wonder you’ve come to expect.

On the same weekend that saw the fourth Hunger Games movie open nationwide, hundreds of people trekked to Fermilab to watch the fourth iteration of our own ruthless competition. Five scientists took the stage on Friday night, and only one left — with a prize, that is.

Many physics degree programs excel at preparing students for an academic career, but more than half of those who complete the programs head to industry instead.

For the eighth year in a row, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is inviting families and scout troops to attend the Family Outdoor Fair on Sunday, June 14, from 1-4 p.m. The fair takes place outside the Lederman Science Center and highlights the plant and animal life found on the 6,800-acre Fermilab site in Batavia.
