An array of virtual events brought Fermilab physics to more than 12,000 participants in 35 countries. The 2022 Fermilab Family Open House included tours, talks, demos, classroom visits and more.
Family Open House
This year’s annual Family Open House returns for families and kids of all ages to experience the virtual events from the comfort of their homes. The schedule of events includes the “Iron Scientist” competition, Ask-A-Scientist, the Mr. Freeze cryogenics show and much more.

The reimagined event will bring five days of family-friendly physics fun from the lab to the living room.

The free event aims to teach the community about physics while having fun doing it, which is one reason people decided to come out. The crowd of around 2,500 people met Fermilab scientists and engineers to get a closer look into the world of physics.
