WGN honored Tom Skilling’s retirement with a send-off and messages from the community partners he worked with over the years. Fermilab was part of Tom’s career as he hosted severe weather seminars in Ramsey Auditorium for 38 years. See the Fermilab tribute to Tom Skilling for his dedication to science.

“Beyond the Visible”, a unique exhibit representing the collaboration between artists and scientists from the Fermilab at the Schingoethe Center of Aurora University. The exhibit aims to spark dialogue and bring a new perspective to the forefront of scientific inquiry and artistic expression and is open to the public until May.

Construction work at Fermilab near Kirk and Giese Roads

Fermilab representatives provided an update about the upcoming LBNF site preparation work to members of the Batavia City Council on Nov.6. Starting this month, crews will prepare an area on the Fermilab site close to Kirk and Giese roads for the construction of the new facility for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment.

From U Chicago News: On Sept. 30, the University of Chicago will be hosting its second annual South Side Science Festival inviting visitors to explore ways science impacts our daily lives. This year’s festival includes an up-close look at live butterflies, quantum science games, CPR practice, live demonstrations, local food vendors, music and a Science Slam. The South Side Science Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 on the University of Chicago campus at 929 E 57th St.
