SURF and partner organizations hosted the 18th annual Neutrino Day in Lead, SD on July 11. As a sponsor, Fermilab hosted an interactive livestream event from underground, an Ask a Scientist table and many lab staff were on hand to answer questions about DUNE.

Hundreds of Black Hills residents joined the DUNE celebration in Lead by signing one of the massive beams that will be placed underground as part of the DUNE detector structures.

Batavia Mainstreet and Sturdy Shelter Brewing have collaborated to host the new Sturdy Speaker Series, a biweekly educational talk featuring local experts, through September.

Fermilab participated in SURF’s annual Neutrino Day on July 12. Scientists and engineers from the lab participated in a livestream event from the underground caverns and spoke with visitors above ground about DUNE.

The SpringBoard Summer Series offered by KidsMatter and key community partners is expanding this year with the introduction of a new Physical & Life Sciences program at Fermilab. The Series offers free classwork and field experiences in a variety of popular career sectors to high school students.

WGN honored Tom Skilling’s retirement with a send-off and messages from the community partners he worked with over the years. Fermilab was part of Tom’s career as he hosted severe weather seminars in Ramsey Auditorium for 38 years. See the Fermilab tribute to Tom Skilling for his dedication to science.

“Beyond the Visible”, a unique exhibit representing the collaboration between artists and scientists from the Fermilab at the Schingoethe Center of Aurora University. The exhibit aims to spark dialogue and bring a new perspective to the forefront of scientific inquiry and artistic expression and is open to the public until May.

Fermilab welcomes the public back to Wilson Hall beginning January 23, to visit designated areas Monday through Friday.
