Short-Baseline Neutrino Program

MicroBooNE, with its large neutrino detector at Fermilab, has wrapped up the data-collecting phase and will continue to conduct analysis under fresh leadership.

The milestone by ICARUS paves the way to probe sterile‑neutrino oscillations for the full Short-Baseline Neutrino Program at Fermilab. The first results demonstrate the data’s excellent quality and suitability for physics analyses, as well as the maturity of the software tools for event selection, fitting and detector simulation.

The experiment demonstrated the power of liquid-argon time projection chamber technology for neutrino research, and to date, the collaboration has published more than 80 scientific papers, helping lay the foundation for Fermilab’s neutrino research program.
