Recently, 18 students from the University of Wyoming visited Fermilab and Argonne to observe operations firsthand and meet with industry professionals at each of the labs.

Photographers from the United States and Europe received exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours of areas and experiments that are typically not accessible to the public. The three winning photos were selected by a panel of Fermilab judges from 63 submissions and will move on to the global competition.

WGN honored Tom Skilling’s retirement with a send-off and messages from the community partners he worked with over the years. “Beyond the Visible”, a unique exhibit representing the collaboration between artists and scientists from the Fermilab at the Schingoethe Center of Aurora University. The exhibit aims to spark dialogue and bring a new perspective to the forefront of scientific inquiry and artistic expression and is open to the public until May.

Jerry Zimmerman, otherwise known as “Mr. Freeze,” demonstrated his infamous cryogenic experiment for a gymnasium full of families, teachers and students.

From Physics Today: Snowmass 2022 this past July took place over 10 days with almost 1,200 people participating online and in person at the University of Washington. It involved 511 white papers spanning 10 “frontier” areas. This once-a-decade meeting also reaffirmed support for completing the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and the affiliated Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility to carry our DUNE’s science goals.
