The annual DOE Project Management Achievement Awards recognize teams that have demonstrated significant results in completing projects within cost and schedule. Fermilab received two of the three given for Office of Science projects this year: one for the Muon g-2 Project and one for the Utilities Upgrade Project, both of which are key to the laboratory’s research programs.
The Wilson Hall ground floor northeast shower and restroom facilities are still out of service and closed while repairs are in progress. There will be a brief domestic water outage this Saturday 4/20 in WH, between the hours of 07:am and 11:am. This outage will only encompass the East tower, from floors 15 down to the 2nd floor. Restrooms in those area will be closed during the outage.
The domestic water outage which occurred Monday March 18, 2019 was attributed to a scheduled outage in support of the domestic water line upgrade on Discovery Road. The scheduled outage had an unanticipated impact in curtailing domestic water availability in buildings across the site. These interruptions were in addition to the known impact for the Training Center building. On Tuesday 3/05 from 6:00AM to 12:00PM there will be a limited parking lot closure in the Wilson Hall East parking lot. In preparation for IERC Project, FESS will be performing electrical feeder field verifications at manholes P-65 E and P65 in the Wilson Hall East parking lot. Due to ongoing work on the Discovery Road Domestic Water Service Improvement Project, there may be slight residual discoloration in the Wilson Hall domestic water service periodically, until the project is complete. This will not have any effect on the WH filtered drinking water system.
Early this morning, a pipe supplying water from the Central Utility Building to Wilson Hall broke. The Fire Department and other responders performed exceptionally to diagnose the situation, contain the leak and ventilate the basement levels. There are no immediate safety risks. We are currently analyzing the impact and assessing our options for repairs and/or work-arounds. We assure everyone that drinking water and toilets are unaffected. We will have an update midday.

From Suburban Chronicle, Nov. 16, 2018: Funding has been finalized, design work is under way and construction is now set to start next summer. Construction is likely be completed by the end of 2021.
