facilities

From working at the CIA to designing science facilities at Fermilab, Kate Sienkiewicz enjoys tackling complex problems. Currently, she oversees the team tasked with designing and building conventional facilities at the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility near site for the international Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment — all with the overarching goal of understanding the universe.

The LBNF Construction Zone has been updated to allow easier access to MI-10 and MI-20; however, Indian Creek road between MI-10 and MI-20 remains closed to thru traffic — this means vehicles and pedestrians. This is an active construction zone. Access to this area requires PPE and check-in with LBNF construction coordinators. To access MI-20, you must drive the long way around the Main Injector. Safety is our priority.

The PIP-II team has installed two webcams for documenting the construction of the conventional facilities to house the PIP-II accelerator and related work. Watch the buildings go up in real time, or have fun looking at time-lapse videos of the site development and construction. The webcams are located on the 16th floor of Wilson Hall, looking east, and the Fermilab Main Ring infield, looking west-northwest. Steve Dixon of the PIP-II Project team led the webcam installation effort.

Please be advised: IERC project has scheduled a Wilson Hall building wide power outage for this Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please make any necessary adjustments to maintain continuity of operations that may be required. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
