From Science, March 6, 2017: For more than a decade, multiple experiments have found an unexpected excess in the number of high-energy antielectrons, or positrons, in space. A team led by Fermilab’s Dan Hooper has shown that pulsars, not dark matter annihilation, can indeed produce most or all of the excess.

Fermilab’s Family Open House is a chance for the whole family to spend an afternoon learning about science in a hands-on way and have fun doing it. This year’s event will mark Fermilab’s 50th anniversary with a new show and several activities for kids and their parents to enjoy.

Next year, the country’s premier particle physics laboratory celebrates 50 years of discovery and innovation with a huge open house and many other events.
